First Master Class on Neuronavigation and Intraoperative Ultrasound

First Master Class on Neuronavigation and Intraoperative Ultrasound

On August 14–15, a unique educational event took place in Novosibirsk, organized by M.P.A. Medical Partners in collaboration with the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons "Sibneuro" and the Federal Neurosurgery Center.

The program was curated by Anton Vladimirovich Kalinovsky, Head of the Neuro-Oncology Department.

The master class focused primarily on the latest capabilities of intraoperative ultrasound from BK Medical and optical neuronavigation from Brainlab.

During the program, participants explored:

  • Current approaches to the surgical treatment of intracerebral tumors;
  • Opportunities for the combined use of intraoperative ultrasound and neuronavigation;
  • Clinical examples of planning and conducting operations using advanced technologies.

Theoretical sessions were complemented by hands-on practice: surgeons performed navigation, puncture, and revision under ultrasound guidance. Additionally, demonstration surgeries allowed participants to observe the technologies applied in real clinical practice.

The event was highlighted by a visit from Senator Alexander Alexandrovich Karelin, who visited the Federal Neurosurgery Center on the second day. Together with the Center’s Chief Physician, Jamil Afetovich Rzaev, he reviewed the training process and attended a live broadcast of a brain surgery using intraoperative ultrasound.

According to the senator, the development of such educational initiatives and the implementation of modern technologies directly contribute to improving the quality of medical care in the regions.

M.P.A. Medical Partners continues to contribute to the development of neurosurgery in Russia by supporting projects aimed at professional development and the adoption of innovative treatment methods.
